  • Surgical – Sterilization C1950

    Framed chart of sterilization proceedures. This chart was used in theatre at the RVEEH in the late 1940s and 1950s. Inscription: Qualtex – Watson Victor Sterilization Co. Ref: H.M. Stationary Office 1945.

  • Surgical – Retina C1980

    Powerhead drives the disposable guillotine cutter for anterior segment vitrectomy. (Disposablr head not included). Case and box included. Inscription: Kaufman vitrector, Model 5090.

  • Surgical – Ophthalmic 1960

    3 x acrylic conjunctival conformers made by Schulmeister, Ocular Prosthetist. Designed by Dr R.F.Lowe in 1960. Used to maintain conjunctival pocket following eye removal.

    Boxed set of 4 Sutherland instruments. 1. Side gripping forceps 2 & 3 End gripping forceps, 2 different styles. 4. Scissors Inscrition: Grieshaber. Used and donated by Dr J Heinze, Melbourne, for vitreous manipulation from 1980-2000.

  • EYE COLLECTION SET X 2 1958

    2 x unused collection containers for eye donor material. Wrapped around each container is a form for permission to use donor eyes. Inscription: Eye bank for sight restortation, New York. Donated by Dr K G Howsam.

  • SUTURES & NEEDLES C1940

    Various suture materials, made from silk & catgut, that were threaded by the nursing staff into the metal needles. Used at the RVEEH. Donated by Dr K G Howsam.
