RANZCO’s 56th Annual Scientific Congress was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, allowing good exhibition space for the Eye Museum Exhibit, which attracted a record 18 historic posters.
This year’s display included rare collections of antique operating and examining lamps, powered by candle and oil, dating from 1870. Also on show was a collection of pre-automation complex instruments, including a complex silver Foret lacrimal set (1822) and a von Hippel mechanical corneal trephine.
